10. Pugo and Togo were a Filipino comedy team in Philippine movies during the 1940s up to 1950s. Composed of Mariano Contreras (1898–1978) and Andres Solomon (1905 – November 3, 1952), their brand of humor consisted of short skits, slapstick, and funny dialogues presented in Manila's theaters, most particularly Clover Theater and Avenue Theater. Mariano Contreras starred as Pugo, while Solomon portrayed Togo. They were both bald headed.



9. Palito (September 4, 1934 – April 12, 2010) was a veteran Filipino slapstick comedian and actor who was at the height of his career in the 1970s and 80s. He was well known for his unusually light and thin anatomy, thus earning him the self-deprecating screenname Palito, which is Spanish for stick, understood in Filipino as matchstick or toothpick.




8. Panchito Alba (born Alfonso D. Tagle, Sr.; February 25, 1925 – December 18, 1995) was a FAMAS award-winning Filipino film actor who almost exclusively appeared in comedy roles. He was billed as either "Panchito Alba" or simply "Panchito". Known for his swarthy looks and a prominent big nose, which was often the target of ridicule. Panchito frequently appeared as a comedic foil to Dolphy, where the two are best friends in real life.



7. Jimmy Santos (born Jaimy R. Santos,. October 8 1950) in Pateros, Manila is a former Basketball Player and currently one of the host of a noon time show called Eat Bulaga. He was very famous on his movie Bonjing, a huge Baby with a body of an adult.



6. Cipriano "Dodoy" CermeƱo II (December 5, 1955 – July 25, 2010), better known as Redford White, was a Filipino actor and comedian who was active from the late 1970s until the late 2000s.

White first came to prominence in the late 1970s for his supporting role in the sitcom Iskul Bukol. He had a string of hits as the leading man in several 1980s comedies such as Bino and Klayd, Darakula and Hee Man: Master of None, his first major role. For several years, he starred in the TV sitcom Buddy en Sol with Eric Quizon. In the latter part of his career, White appeared in several films for Star Cinema such as Tar-San, Ala eh... Con Bisoy! Hale-hale-hoy!: Laging panalo ang mga unggoy, and Haba-baba-doo! Puti-puti-poo! paired with various comedians in the likes of Babalu, Bonel Balingit, Carding Castro and Leo Martinez.

White was reportedly born with albinism, which gave rise to his screen name.

His last movie was Iskul Bukol 20 Years After (2008), and his last TV shows were Kokey and Palos on ABS-CBN.



5. Ricardo Castro (1935 - November 14, 2003), better known as Carding Castro, was a Filipino actor, comedian and entertainer.

As an entertainer, Castro was part of the singing comic duo Reycard Duet, along with Rey Ramirez. The duo was established in 1954 and performed for over than 40 years until 1997, when Ramirez died. After the latter's death, Castro remained active as a solo performer and for a few years was part of the ensemble cast of the ABS-CBN comedy sitcom Home Along Da Riles. He also did a few films with the late comedian Redford White.

Castro died of cardiac arrest in Las Vegas on November 14, 2003.



4. Renato "Rene" Requiestas (January 22, 1957 - July 24, 1993) was one of the top Filipino comedians of the late 1980s up to the early 1990s.

Requiestas was known for his sidekick roles alongside other comedy actors such as Joey de Leon and his pairing with Kris Aquino in romantic comedies, as well as his distinctive gaunt, toothless appearance.

Before Requiestas entered show business, he sold cigarettes on the streets. He was discovered by a talent scout of Regal Films and mentored by De Leon.

Requiestas died on July 24, 1993 at the age of 36 due to tuberculosis and other complications brought about by heavy smoking and drinking.



3. Marvic "Vic" Castelo Sotto (born April 28, 1954), is a Filipino actor, television show host,comedian, and film producer working for GMA Network and stars on noon-time variety show Eat Bulaga!. He won three consecutive titles for Philippine Box Office King (2004, 2005, and 2006).



2. Pablito Sarmiento, Jr. (February 20, 1942–August 27, 1998), better known as Babalu, was a Filipino comedian and actor. Babalu is considered as "one of the most famous and beloved comedians" in the Philippines. He was a Filipino celebrity under ABS-CBN. He began as a driver for the late comedian Panchito Alba. Dolphy, another Filipino comedian, discovered Babalu's talent as a comedian. His screen name was a reference to his long chin ("baba" is the Filipino term for "chin") of which was sometimes a subject of on-screen ridicule, usually by himself. Babalu was given a featured role on the Philippines' leading comedy-variety show Buhay Artista. His appearances in movies and television included the shows Home Along Da Riles and Oki Doki Doc. Babalu's life story was featured on the television show Maalaala Mo Kaya on July 3, 2003.




1. Rodolfo Vera Quizon, Sr.(July 25, 1928 – July 10, 2012), known by his screen names Dolphy, Pidol, and Golay (1944), was a Filipino comedian-actor in thePhilippines. He is widely regarded as the country's "King of Comedy" for his comedic talent embodied by his long roster of works on stage, radio, television and movies.

Dolphy died on July 10, 2012, 20:34 (Philippine time, 01:34 UTC), at the age of 83 due to multiple organ failure, secondary to complications brought about by pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and acute renal failure.

President Benigno Aquino III declared July 13, 2012 as "National Day of Remembrance" in honor of Dolphy's contributions to the Philippine showbiz industry.
